Designer celebrities Simon and Tomas have opinions about Melodifestivalen 2011

 During the final of Melodifestivalen I met with the Swedish-British interior designers Tomas Cederlund and Simon Davies. I was trying to find out whether there are connecting points between designer trends, Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest. I have to admit - I was not able to make any conclusion after the interview. … My only conclusion is that everything seems to be a mish-mash and in the end we all want to find the bar!

Under Melodifestivalens finalkväll hade jag ett snack med designerduon Tomas Cederlund och Simon Davies angående likheterna mellan inredningstrender, Melodifestival och Eurovision Song Contest. Att hitta den gemensamma nämnaren förblev synnerligen oklart och höljt i ett förvirrat dunkel och på nåt sätt verkar det som att alla vill hitta till baren…..

Simon and Tomas have recently returned from Hollywood after filming for the Oprah Winfrey channel. The program 'over there' is based on the Swedish concept ‘Sweden’s ugliest home’. During this winter Swedish TV-audience have been able to follow the guys and their two dogs, Percy and Pooter, in a program called ‘Room for a star’. The theme in each program is to create a hotel room for a specific artist. Among the stars we can mention Arja Sajonmaa, Pernilla Wahlgren, Roger Pontare, Magnus Carlsson (Alcazar) and the host of this year’s Melodifestivalen, Marie Serneholt. So ..... somewhere there must be a connecting point between Eurovision and interior design.

Simon och Tomas har nyss kommit hem från Hollywood där de spelat in ett antal program för Oprah Winfrey’s kanal. Programidén bygger på det svenska konceptet ’Sveriges fulaste hem’. Under vintern har serien ’Rum för en stjärna’ visats i Sverige. I programmet har Tomas och Simon och deras kändishundar Percy & Pooter inrett hotellrum för diverse artister. Bland annat Pernilla Wahlgren, Arja Saijonmaa, Magnus Carlsson, Roger Pontare och årets Melodifestivalsvärdinna Marie Serneholt. Nog verkar det trots allt finnas en gemensam nämnare mellan schlager och inredning.
